About A RET 0.025% GEL

ARET 0.025% GEL 20GM also known as retinoic acid belongs to the class of drugs known as retinoids (synthetic or man-made vitamin A). A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM is primarily used to treat acne (pimples), sun-damaged skin and leukaemia (blood cancer). Acne is a skin condition that is common and occurs when hair follicles are blocked with dead skin cells and oil. Leukaemia is a type of blood cancer caused due to the rise in the number of white blood cells (WBCs) in your body.

ARET 0.025% GEL 20GM is a form of vitamin A that loosen and unblock pores in the skin’s surface by reducing the oil secretion in the skin. This prevents the formation of pimples, whiteheads and blackheads. A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM also reduces the excessive production of abnormal blood cells and stimulates the growth of normal, mature cells in blood and bone marrow. The oral form of A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM is used in the treatment of leukaemia (a type of blood cancer).

A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM is available in both topical and oral dosage form. The oral form of A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. A topical form of A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM can be taken on the fingertip and applied on the clean and dry affected area. Avoid contact of ARET 0.025% GEL 20GM with nose, mouth, eyes, ears or vagina. In case A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience dry skin, peeling, redness, burning, itching or stinging sensation of the skin. Most of these side effects of A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant, nursing mother or planning for pregnancy, it is advised to consult a doctor before using ARET 0.025% GEL 20GM. Avoid sun exposure while using A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM as it may make the skin more sensitive to sunlight and cause sunburn. Wear protective clothing and use a sunscreen lotion (SPF) while going out to protect your skin from sunburn. Do not apply A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM in large amounts than prescribed as it does not give quick or better results but causes peeling, marked redness or skin discomfort. Patient with a history of depression, eczema, history of skin cancer, and fish allergies should use ARET 0.025% GEL 20GM with caution.

Directions for Use

Topically: Wash your hands before and after applying ARET 0.025% GEL 20GM. Before using it, try to clean and dry the affected skin area. Applying ARET 0.025% GEL 20GM to wet skin may cause skin irritation, so try not to wash the treated area. Also do not apply other skin products for at least 1 hour after applying A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM. Wash the face with mild soap and pat the skin dry. Take a small pearl-sized amount of A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM on the fingertip and apply on the clean and dry affected area once a day in the evening. Avoid contact of A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM with nose, mouth, eyes, ears or vagina. In case A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Orally: If you are prescribed A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM in oral form, swallow the whole capsule with a glass of water. Take A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM with food to avoid stomach upset. Do not break, crush or chew it.

Like all medicines, A RET 0.025% GEL 20GM can cause some side effects such as dry skin, peeling, redness, burning, itching or stinging sensation of the skin.
